Most teams are merely playing four matches in NFL preseason 2010 odds at the online sportsbook.
Two teams will be playing five matches though since the Hall of Fame Game is considered an extra competition by the NFL and not part of Week 1 NFL preseason 2010 gambling. The Dallas Cowboys meet the Bengals in the Hall of Fame Game on August 8th. The Hall of Fame Game will follow a ceremony enshrining of the Hall’s Class of 2010 on Saturday, August 7.
The Dallas Cowboys last appeared in 1999 with a roster that included new enshrinee Emmitt Smith, while the Bengals are appearing in their first Hall of Fame Game since 1988. Cowboys owner-general manager Jerry Jones had lobbied for his squad to be involved in the competition for the first time since 1999. Smith, the NFL’s all-time leading rusher with 18,355 yards, performed for the Cowboys from 1990 – 2002 and obtained a track record 164 rushing touchdowns, won four NFL rushing titles and gained 1,000 yards in a record 11 consecutive seasons. Jones wanted his club to be part of the weekend since Smith will be enshrined into the Hall a day earlier.
NFL preseason 2010 odds will almost definitely prefer the Cowboys in the preseason opener that can be watched on NBC. The Dallas Cowboys are considered Super Bowl contenders and while the Bengals are good, they are not given as much esteem on the betting line that Dallas receives.
Just a few days after the Hall of Fame Game, Week 1 NFL preseason 2010 gambling begins. The Dallas Cowboys do not get much rest as they’ve got to play on Thursday, August 12th which is just four days after their opener versus the Bengals. The Dallas Cowboys might have an advantage over Oakland since they will have been in camp longer than the Raiders. The Dallas Cowboys will get most of the recognition anyhow and in this case the Raiders could have some value with the Cowboys playing on a short week.
The 3rd competition for the Cowboys in the preseason is on August 21st as they are in San Diego. The Dallas Cowboys will most likely be underdogs in that competition on the road versus the Chargers. Dallas carries on on the road on August 28th versus the Houston Texans in a competition that can be watched on CBS television. This is part of the Week 3 timetable for other teams so the starters should see a lot of action. The Cowboys end the preseason on September 2nd as they host the Miami Dolphins. Starters do not play much so the line on this competition might be very close with the Cowboys a minor fave. The last week of the preseason is pretty pointless.
Dallas is a very public squad so they will get some action from bettors, even in the preseason. The Dallas Cowboys are 1 of the main Super Bowl contenders in futures along with New Orleans, Indianapolis and New England. Dallas will be on national TV a lot beginning with the Hall of Fame Game and they ought to be fun to watch in the preseason.
