Sports wagering optimism is bigger than you may expect for the online sports wagering prospects of the Raiders for the 2010 year.

1 of the reasons for the online sports wagering optimism is that sports wagering handicappers like that Jason Campbell has replaced draft bust JaMarcus Russell as quarterback.

Russel was the # 1 total NFL pick at the 2007 NFL Draft. He had extraordinary measurements and strength at the time. After the Raiders selected him, it took several weeks for him to get to a deal agreement with the Raiders. They gave him a 6-year deal valued at up to $68 million. Until the 2009 year, he still was not named the starting quarterback. He was benched for the season a few matches into the year because of poor performance. He has plain and simple been unimpressive in football betting. He concluded the 2009 year with the lowest quarterback rating, the lowest completion proportion, lowest number of passing touchdowns, and lowest number of passing yards among all quarterbacks in the NFL wagering.

Campbell will come from the Redskins where he was a decent but never a fantastic quarterback. A feeling of maturity and stability that Russell never had does arrive with Campbell. Beyond that, Campbell’s statistics, humble as they were, appeared like a hall of famer’s in comparison to the horrible statistics put up by Russell.

As they try to regain their status as a football wagering contender after not making the playoffs since their 2002 Super Bowl year that concluded with a loss to Tampa Bay, Campbell’s arrival in Oakland denotes a new era for the Silver and Black.

“I just want to get to a point where I enjoy it again and I’m having fun again because I’ve gone through so much that, at times, it was stressful, always having to go through these different loops and everything,” the new Raider quarterback said.

“I want to enjoy it and not just keep getting questioned so much, trying to keep your head up and going straight forward through all the changes. It almost feels like I’ve been drafted all over again.” Campbell has had to play under 4 different offensive coordinators in his pro career after performing for 4 different offensive coordinators in the course of his college career at Auburn. He was Washington’s first round draft pick in 2005.

Campbell is known for a great work ethic, which is in stark contrast to Russell who was known for sloppy study habits and will go down as the greatest number 1 draft bust in NFL history, or at least since Ryan Leaf.

Campbell’s teammates and coaches expect better things for 2010 as they are impressed with his professionalism, which has been contagious, even though Oakland could be a long shot with the NFL preseason probabilities.

Al Davis, Oakland’s owner, is 81 and in less than fantastic health. He sees a short window for success and was aggressive in spending big money to improve Oakland’s lineup and its sports wagering chances for 2010. It was a blow to the owner that Russell was such a bust but with Campbell there’s perhaps still time for 1 more championship in Davis’ career.
