Football wagering odds makers are preparing for event with the NFL preseason odds that will include a significant amount of hype with the Dallas Cowboys.

Since the very 1st day he bought the squad in the spring of 1989, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has never been bashful about being the center of attention. Jones 1st act on his 1st day was to terminate renowned hall of fame coach Tom Landry.
Jones has always captured the headlines through three Super Bowl champions and a host of letdowns and failures to the opening of his spectacular over the top Cowboys Stadium last year.
Jones is optimistic about his team’s probabilities for the 2010 season. Just as important, Jones’ dream of sponsoring the Super Bowl with his own squad in the competition has a strong possibility of actually happening. If they do it, they’ll be the 1st NFL squad in betting history to host the Super Bowl game in their home stadium. That might be more than enough incentive to give the squad the additional boost they need to get to the football wagering playoffs.
Last year Dallas had a NFL sports wagering history of 11-5 straight up and 9-7 against the spread with 10 of those matches going under the total. The Cowboys ended as NFC East Division champions and won a playoff competition at home over Philadelphia before being blown out in the NFC playoffs not much later at Minnesota.
Overall it was a season in which marked improvement was shown as Dallas improved and grew more powerful down the stretch, just the opposite of 2008 when they fell apart and missed the playoffs in humiliating fashion.
While Jones tried to downplay the expectations of the 2010 season, his desire to win the Super Bowl next February in “Jerry’s World” is beyond apparent to anyone around Cowboys camp.
“There’s just not a whole lot of things not to like about the upcoming season,” said the owner. “But we all know the game and the journey we have ahead of us.” While Jones is optimistic he concedes that the Dallas Cowboys have to make amends for their horrific 3-34 online NFL sports wagering loss at Minnesota to end their Super Bowl dreams for 2009.
“We have got to make amends for, but that’s not all bad,” said Jones. “Where I think that I won’t be going is spending a lot of time talking about, ‘Well, we’re having the Super Bowl in the Super Bowl stadium, the expectation is to play the Super Bowl there.’” It was a relatively quiet offseason in Big D, and Jones needed to maintain continuity for the 2010 football betting campaign. With 40 pounds off his frame and a strong 33-15 career history and an improving defense with his stamp on it, coach Wade Phillips is looking quite svelte.
“We have a lot of starters who played well and are coming into the prime of their careers,” said Phillips.
