NFL wagering prospects continue to drop for the Bills since regardless of who’s at qb, they are on the list of worst squads in NFL wagering. The Bills are coming off a 38-14 debacle versus the Jets as qb Ryan Fitzpatrick had no more capacity to move the offense than the recently waived Trent Edwards. Head coach Chan Gailey continues to have difficulty at boosting the squad.
Gailey was brought in a while back this year, becoming the 5th head coach for the squad in just 10 years. His work as a coach began in the NCAA with Troy State University and Air Force Academy more than 30 years ago. He got into the NFL when the Denver broncos signed him as a defensive assistant and special teams coach in 1984. The Denver Broncos made three Super Bowl appearances during his 6 year tenure there. He went back to the NCAA circuit in 1991 where he again persistently took his squad to the playoffs. Since then he’s gone forward and backward between the NFL and the NCAA, either as a coach or a defensive coordinator, and is now replacing Perry Fewell as head coach.
On the plus side, Fitzpatrick has outperformed Edwards and has an 88 Qb rating but the Bills’ difficulties have proved to go far beyond the qb position. Buffalo rates an abysmal 28th for scoring and at the bottom of the charts for points permitted and has to be viewed as the worst squad in the NFL. Buffalo today has a record of 0-4 straight up and 1-3 with the NFL lines.
There’s little doubt which Buffalo squad will make an appearance for this matchup as it will be a poor one. The major question for odds makers is which version of the Jacksonville Jaguars they will get for Sunday.
An AFC South Division win over the reigning conference champions is impressive but the Jags have shown no NFL wagering regularity to date and must demonstrate that they can handle a poor squad and avoid a possible letdown.
