The Bears are 4-1 and they are liked at home versus the 2-2 Seahawks on Sunday. The Bears should get quarterback Jay Cutler back this week and his return could prompt bettors at the web sports book to make an Football bet. The Seahawks have not looked very good this season so it is likely that the Bears will get a lot of the adoration in this game.
Early in the week there were no odds on this game but Cutler should play this week. The Bears better hope so considering Todd Collins is a horrible NFL quarterback. He threw 4 interceptions this past week and should be headed for the bench permanently. The Bears were able to run the ball this past week and still won over the horrible Panthers even with Collins playing so terribly. Caleb Hanie actually came in and performed at quarterback considering Collins was so bad. Those issues should be over this week with the return of Cutler.
Cutler, the 11th overall pick in the 2006 NFL Draft, was taken out with a concussion throughout a brutal loss to the New york giants in Week four. Up until that point, the Bears had been one of simply two unbeaten teams in the NFL. The loss left the Kansas city chiefs as the only unbeaten team at that point.
Collins has spent the majority of his Football career as a backup quarterback. With ten years and two days, he holds the NFL record for the lengthiest gap between starts in post-merger history. Hanie is a newer player, signed as an undrafted free agent by the Bears in 2008, who has demonstrated nearly as worthless as Collins. The team undoubtedly needs Cutler back.
Chicago’s Offense – Before the season started we genuinely did not know if this Mike Martz thing would work in Chicago. So far it’s been fairly good. The Bears with Cutler at quarterback are capable of throwing it all over the field and they proven this past week with Matt Forte that they can run the ball.
Chicago’s Defense – This is a top ten Chicago defense. The Bears are shutting down competitors and now they get a lousy Seattle offense. It undoubtedly looks good for the Bears this week. Chicago has not performed a murderer’s row of competitors so the statistics for Chicago are thrown off nonetheless they can undoubtedly shut down the lousy Seattle offense.
Seahawks .500 – The Seahawks are 2-2 and in the NFC West that is good enough to be in contention. Seattle won competitions versus San Francisco and San Diego but lost to St. Louis and Denver. At home the Seahawks are worth contemplating with an Football bet but on the road they basically do not score. They had only 3 points in their last road game at St. Louis. They do not figure to score a lot of in this game at Chicago.
Under the Total – If the Seahawks can play a little defense this game should go under in Football gambling. Seattle has a poor quarterback in Matt Hasselbeck and very little else. Perhaps the addition of Marshawn Lynch will aid but time will tell.
