Although Seattle Seahawks Matt Hasselbeck has 2 cracked bones in his left wrist, he is decided to play against the reigning Super Bowl champions, the New orleans saints. Whether or not he couldn’t tie his own shoes earlier this week.
Hasselbeck solicited aid from third-string qb J.P. Losman to be able to lace up his cleats prior to practice on Wednesday.
Hasselbeck was dressed in a ungainly brace on his hurt left wrist prior to practice yet has a more compact setup that he uses throughout practice. He feels that he will by fine, but skipped snaps and a few hands-off elements while practicing on Wednesday. But he states that he isn’t in lots of discomfort, and actually not to be all that concerned.
Hasselbeck submitted one of his top passing performances of the past number of years, throwing for 333 yards and a touchdown as the Seahawks beat the Cardinals 36-18 on Sunday to regain 1st place in the dismal NFC West.
Hasselbeck suffered the injury on a qb sneak attempt late in the 1st half and was pressured to go to the locker room. He missed the 1st 2 offensive possessions of the 3rd quarter gaining an X-ray of his wrist as the training staff located a brace that granted him to come back to the turf. He credits adrenaline to his ability to compete on Sunday with the injury. According to him that there are no limits to what he is capable of doing.
For an offense that demonstrated signs of life for the 1st time in weeks, it was a big boost for Hasselbeck to come back. He was pressured to sit out against the Giants the week previous with a concussion that presented Whitehurst the 1st start of his NFL career.
Seattle managed only 162 yards of total offense when the Giants sailed to a 41-7 win. Hasselbeck had 273 yards passing in the 1st half on its own on Sunday, like a 63-yard touchdown pass to Deon Butler.
Pete Carroll had to prevent Hasselbeck from running straight back on the field immediately after he re-emerged from the locker room. Carroll pressured him to take snaps, run two handoffs and get warmed up again prior to allowing him back into the huddle. Hasselbeck and the Seahawks trust to keep the momentum rolling against the Saints on Sunday. New Orleans is enabling only 166 yards a match through the air, top in pro football.
