Oklahoma City was down 9 points with only about 4 minutes left when Durant took the reins. He was just unstoppable down the stretch and willed the Thunder to the victory. He played better than Denver 14-6 by himself in the final three and a half minutes.
Denver Missed Opportunities
The Nuggets effortlessly may have won Game 1 and they may have won Game 5 yet they didn’t win either and are now accomplished for the year. Denver was in excellent shape on Wednesday night as they directed 91-82 with only over 4 minutes left. The Nuggets only could not stop Durant and they didn’t competition his offense. Durant made six of seven shots down the stretch. The Thunder didn’t get much out of Russell Westbrook who had only 14 points on 3 for 15 shooting. The Thunder remained near due to Durant and because they were 34 of 42 from the foul line. Denver just didn’t have the scorer to count in and it cost them in the series against the Thunder.
Thunder against Grizzlies or Spurs
Even if San Antonio comes back to defeat Memphis there’s a quality chance that the Thunder are destined to be liked in that series. They’re going to certainly be liked in NBA playoffs gambling against the Grizzlies. Oklahoma City has the better offense than either the Spurs or the Grizzlies and they look as though a team that will likely be competing in the Western Conference finals.
