The 49ers have a stranglehold on the NFC West. The Rams visit the niners this week, but the chances of the last place squad in the division beating the niners is far off at best.

Famous Jim
niners head coach Jim Harbaugh is a magician in a way. He has taken a squad that was poor enough to get its coach let go in 2010 and turned it into one of the strongest teams in pro football without introducing any players of note. You’ve got to state it’s a wonderful lesson in positive thinking and amazing coaching. San Francisco has already finished up the division tournament, so it can play devoid of any strain on it. This isn’t good news for the sad sack Rams!

Flailing Rams
…and then we’ve got the Rams. The squad simply can not stop tripping over itself and has tripped to a 2-8 record. Head Coach Steve Spagnuola is receiving flak for the poor performance of the squad and rightly so. However, those who understand the game know a big amount of the blame should be put on the horrific offensive coordinator – Josh Daniels.
Josh Daniels is, needless to say, the former New England assistant who single handedly destroyed the Denver broncos team in his year or two as head coach. Opted for by the Rams, he has taken a stud at running back [Stephen Jackson] and a prospective stud at quarterback [Sam Bradford] and developed an offense that can not move the ball or score. The chances of the Rams offensive getting its act together against a stout San Francisco defense in this match are not exactly high! The greatest Rams’ supporters can pray for is another dismal performance which makes the termination of Daniels all the more very likely.
The Game
This niners will take this match for one straightforward reason – they are better than the Rams in every area of the game. Having said this, it will not be a rout per se. The niners simply do not have the offensive philosophy or power to blow out other teams, even ones as negative as the Rams. Still, you can go ahead and add a win to the niners record and, needless to say, another loss to the record of the Rams too.
